I was just looking through the Virgin Atlantic schedule and there I only found flights flown by either the A340-300 or the B747-400 but no A340-600 operated ones.
Where does VS send them to?
And how many do they have in their fleet at the moment?

Hi Max,
As far as i am aware Narita and Hong Kong are the main destinations for the 346.
From what i can establish, some US destinations receive the odd flight if an Asian service is axed for the day - hence a 346 to IAD last week - so it is said.
Look out for my trip report, off to NRT on saturday on VS(346),back a week friday.

I have seen them several times at JFK. They operated as Virgin 009 on May 3 and May 5 from KJFK to EGLL. I don' know where else they operate them though.
As for their fleet, JetPhotos.net has 6 listed as being operated by Virgin Atlantic. (G-VATL, G-VFOX, G-VGOA, G-VMEG, G-VOGE, G-VSHY).

Thank you guys,
Too bad I was thinking about flying to JFK with VS this year yet to get a ride on the A340-600 but I guess I'll have to change plans on that one than... Well maybe they will replace the Asian A340-600s with -300's if the loads are not that good on those routes...
If not I wouldn't mind flying to NRT either
