OK, many months ago a user of this board was telling us all about the white 747-400 with lots of strange lumps and bumps all over it. He was sure its a 744 and even gave a reg.

Well its been over a few months now and has ANYONE seen a 744 that this could have been?.

Any new ideas??

That's grey, CCA, and has never been to NCE.

Bit of teasing.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy But the YAL-1A has never been to NCE.

Damn, this website is getting worse daily.

The original poster said it had a stretched upper deck and winglets so it was definately a 747-400 passenger.

Wasn't it an ex Malaysian 744 Combi, or an ex Air China bird?

Malaysian has indeed returned a 744 Combi, but that happened after the strange sighting of this 744. It is possible that it was an ex-Air China one as there had been an ownership change or something around the same time.

Does anyone know the status of the 2 Air Chinas?

As far as my memory serves me correctly, there is only one Air China. The rest of it being China Airlines (Taiwan), China Northern-Southern-Eastern-Northwest-Southwest...

Ryanair!!!

I actually meant what is the status of the 2 ex-Air China 747-400s that were returned to the leasing company last year! I know there's only one Air China airline! Sorry for the misunderstanding!

Saw A9C-HMK recently at PAE, WA which is an all white 744 but it's probably all new and not built when the plane was noted in NCE.

But honestly, I wonder if the guy told me the truth. How an all white 747-400 can be seen by only one person, and how a registration can be unknown ?

There are many ways that an all white 747-400 can have a registration unknown to us. To those that know.

A9C-HMK is a Boeing 747-400, destined to be the transport of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain.

I understand the aircraft has been undergoing refit in Hamburg for the last couple of months.
