I was talking to a friend at work the other day and he said he heard MSP was getting a new control tower because someone wanted to build a hanger on a site that would block the view from the tower. He also said that the airline/company or what ever was offering to build the tower for the FAA.
Anyone have any info?
Also, I have been looking for an airport layout map of the runways when they are finished with the currant runway construction project, but cant find one.

Haven't heard anything about a new tower. Can't believe it would be an airline offering up a pricey bit of real estate like a new tower with the way things have been going for them. I suppose there are plenty of other possible parties. Can't wait to hear if anyone can confirm.

The MSP tower is scheduled to be replaced, from the info. I got. The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) said it was necessary because the current tower won't be able to see all the new runway and/or aprons that are being constructed. They said it will be built in 2005.
