I know this is likely to create some sparks, but, as we all know, guys on A.net are soooooo mature that this shouldn't be a problem, right?

So guys, what do you think is the worst livery we can see flying in the air these days?

I have to vote for VN. They have at least two liveries and they manage to make sure that both are ugly. Look at this one.

And this one; still shows that old soviet style.

A close runner up is AM. Too drab for me.

Actually i don't think the Vietnam Airlines livery is that bad. At least it's not plain white like so many other carriers- which looks so drab. But that second one sux. Southwest also has a very boring livery. Aeroflot is another one.

Qb001, I have to defend the Viet Nam Airlines 'Lotus' scheme, it is facinating how the aircraft appears to change colour taxying around the airport, from deep blue to aqua green:

The older scheme has just been gradually built on the original Aeroflot livery.
Liveries are a matter of personal taste, with airlines trying to appeal to the largest possible groups of potential passengers. An aircraft plastered with pastel colours and Disney characters may work in Japan, but not in Russia etc. etc.
I can't say I like the Virgin Blue livery appealing, personally I think it's messy, but I appreciate that low fare paying passengers would be attracted to a bright red 737:

Qb001: I hope you have seen this livery in person to make this judgement . . . because I have had numerous sightings of this livery in good light, and you know what, it is absolutely fabulous.

AJ is spot-on describing how the predominant blue colour seems to change . . . it is a very mystifying colour, it is very smart, it is very very Vietnamese (the lotus especially) . . . in all, the livery and the lotus is very well rendered.

Let us just archive it as a case of different taste and preferences. Some like it plain, some love it colourful.

All the variations in livery just makes our hobby that much more exciting . . . and with an open mind, more educational too.

The DJ livery would look a bit better without the phone number. That just spoils the whole thing. The QF livery doesn't really do anything for me either- it's a very boring colour scheme that hasn't really changed in the past 15 years. QF's early 1980's livery looked pretty cool on the 747. Ansett's 1970's livery was pretty bad too. The AN shooting stars livery of the early 1980's though was the best one in my opinion.

For that matter, I would classify any of the boring, uncreative "white whale" liveries as being the worst.

Frontier's new "billboard" livery is HORRIBLE!

It didn't look good on Braniff, and it doesn't look good now.
