I just read in a letter in the papers that PK are paying Cathay Pacific 8500 U.S dollars per aircraft under FHA(Flight Hourly Agreement) for the engines on the six 743 becuase they still belong to CX, i.e PIA own the fuselage only, is that a first in aviation?

No, it's very common for lease engines to be used on a company's aircraft. Some engines are leased from the manufacturer, others from other airlines or leasing companies.
