In recent months Boeing 727 lovers have been going through some rough times with many airlines (especially US ones) retiring the aircraft, sad times indeed. On a brighter note though I found out and saw a rather low quality picture of an UPS B721QF painted into the new colors, quite the sight and hopefully somebody here can capture this lovely bird. I am in the process to find out the reg # on this plane.

EA CO AS: That is a wonderful question that I wish I knew the answer to. Last year they donated half a dozen to various schools for mechanic training purposes, and I believe this year they are averaging one a month for the same purpose. I suppose if you are a 501c3 and can provide them with the writeoff, then you're golden!
P.S. can anyone answer me why UPS flies 3 721s and a 752 into LAN every night, instead of fewer larger (and smaller crewed) planes?

I know it's a little off topic but does anyone in the US use the BA146 as a freighter? In Australia it plays a major role in freight ops, how come FedEx or UPS don't use it as a short haul freighter? I understand it carries a respectful load.
