Hello,
In august, I'm going on a trip to Scotland. I don't know exactly in which area. But I thought I could ask you guys something about travelling there by air (to Aberdeen, Glasgow or Edinburgh). Can somebody help me with this? Which are the best airlines? Which airlines are the cheapest?
So I live in Belgium, near Brussels. I know that Ryanair does fly to the 3 mentioned airports. Which airlines operate to this cities from BRU (SN, BA,...?)? Which are their fares? etc...

I would go Ryanair into Prestwick as it is a direct service and is really easy to reach the centre of Glasgow from there Glasgow is just as easy but I don't think there's a direct service but is closer to the city. If your going by train it's longer from PIK but simpler. Both ways You will see beautiful country side and Scotland's biggest and best city with loads of fun things to do and see and your not an hour from the highlands and the new national park at loch lomond which is also great. Glasgow's miles better. That's where its all at and most attraction's are free or not that expensive to get into.

Ryanair from Brussels is not an ideal proposition - Charleroi is not very convenient. There should be plenty of flights from Zaventem if you're willing to pay a little extra for a conventional carrier.
There's lots to choose from in Scotland. Be sure to see more than just the Glasgow / Edinburgh belt...
And if you're into civil aviation, then you might want to explore by air?
Consider Loganair - good route network, including the world's shortest scheduled flight! (from Westray to Papa Westray) http://www.loganair.co.uk/start.htm

Despite being from the States, I will tell you how I took my trip to Scotland. USA-LHR-EDI. With Heathrow, you have many flights to Edinburgh to choose from, so if your flight from presumably, BRU, is late, you can still probably take a later flight to EDI and both ways the aircraft used was a 757. I used BA.
I like Edinburgh, the airport is nice and is not tremendously far from the city, and Edinburgh is a great city in itself. This was summer 2001.
Enjoy Scotland!
