Hi

I realise there may already have been talk on this previously, but I am just stunned by how elegant and beautiful the most recent 7E7 concept is - it's really that beautiful nose that does it for me - what nice curves (for a plane...)

I REALLY hope airlines show an interest in the future - I would just LOVE to see this thing fly - what a sleek bird.

If not, I'll buy the model off Boeing!  Big grin

I agree... Also, I think the 7E7 will be the best aircraft to serve trunk routes between South-America and North-America / Europe.

Looks quite nice, indeed.

As far as I recall, though, Boeing has made it clear that these are "artist´s impressions" intended for publicity and are not necessarily reflecting the actual form.

Why would they not use the 767/777 Section 41?

It can easily be adapted to either the double bubble or circular cross section.
I can't see Boeing spending money for components that are already designed, expenses, and proven to be a good design.

Personally, I think the 7E7 will fly with the 767/777 front end.

I think it looks ugly, but maybe i'm the only one. I think the 767/777's have a much nicer looking nose!

Nah, your not the only one. I think the nose is also rather ugly. It does look fast so perhaps long term plans are tho modify the 7E7 in a "sonic-cruise".

Burning lots more fuel, thus negating the main selling-point?

It looks fast because it's an artist's impression. Clever lighting, swooshy paintjob, dramatic background. Photoshop.

I remember the first renditions of the 777... they looked nothing like the plane today.... just a fat 767 :P

Absolutely true! Until the 7E7 is at the firm definition point when it is to be offered to the airlines, I dismiss all of these drawings as being less than accurate. I can't comment on its' looks until I see it in its' final form. These renditions are interesting but that's all I'll say about them for now.

Are we talking about the same 7E7?, the one with the ugly nose, out of place tail?

Yes, we are, if you feel that way and plenty do. I don't think that rendition is so ugly but it IS different. But, as I said, I take it all with a grain, or perhaps, a truckload of salt until Boeing nears a launch decision. I've a feeling the 7E7 won't end up looking EXACTLY like that picture.
