Hey,
I was just checking air transat's schedules on their website and now they have changed the aircraft on my trip to Punta Canaon the 29th of June from an A310 to the L-1011-500 with a stop in Puerto Plata. Now I was wondering do they change their aircraft often? They also changed the flight times about 3 times now. First it was 6:30 then to 10:30 back to 6:30 with the stop. I was wondering if there are any Air Transat employee's in here that can double check these shedules if they are final. Also is there any chance at all they might upgrade this once again to the A330-200 or A330-300?

I use to work for a tour operator and it is not uncommon for a charter operator to change times and also at time to combine flights like what is happening to you. It could be any number of reasons, such as plane being taken out of service for repairs, airline picked up a new flight so your aircraft is being used for that and you now get the L1011, loads might be light for both so combine and use the bigger L1011.

Hey,
Thanks for the info. Hopefully they upgrade to the A330 because im already flying the L-1011 with them in August to Trinidad. Or if they change it back to the A310 that would be great as well.

While on the subject of transat flights, EDI has been recieving a mix of A310s and Tristars over the first 4 flights. We are supposed to recieve the A310, but have had tristars in twice.
Does anyone know when the tristar is scheduled to be back in EDI, as I have yet to see this a/c at edinburgh!

Go to http://www.airtransat.ca and they will show you what aircraft is scheduled. It could be scheduled A310, but if something happens and they need to switch aircraft, often they do so on short notice and will put an L1011 on the flight.
Hope that helps.

Sadly, flights are far from full now, just got back on a -500 (should've been an A310). Load was in the 60%!! I think TS tries hard to fill planes by combining flights, hence equipment/hours varying with time..

BMI330, the 332 is probably the Vancouver-Calgary-Glasgow flight since almost all of Transat's Western Canada to Europe flights are operated by the Airbus 330-200.

Hey,
I believe Air Transat has two A330-200's based in Western Canada and one A330-200 and the A330-300 in Eastern Canada. Does anyone know if these A330's are filled to capacity for the summer time peak season for flights to Europe?

Speaking of Transat,
They had a 1011 parked for at least 3 days last week in YUL of all places, not far from the Air Canada hangars.
I guess they don't have enough parking space in YUL to leave a Tristar near the gates... sure promises a traffic jam when they completely transfer flights from Mirabel to Dorval.
By the way, I hear they're installing screensavers on the radar screens for the air traffic controllers in Mirabel's tower.

I've seen as many as three L10s parked at the north-end of YYZ and the usually have a couple parked near the infield cargo area.
Last night's flight to Lisbon (Saturday, May 32st.) - Flight #294 was an L10-500. One of the crew members in the flight deck was female. Sounded cute on the airband. er... What I meant to say is, I don't recall ever hearing a female voice in a TS flight deck.

I'd be much more nervous with a male pilot on any TS YYZ-LIS flight.
Panam, TWA, Ansett, Eastern.......AC next? Might be good for Canada.
