I just read in swedish media that a Learjet has crashed in a warehouse in italy today. Apparantly the crash site was close to were the Giro d' Italia is running.
Unfortunatelly i couldn't find anything about it on CNN.com or any other english source so i hope that someone else can cut'n paste a link in this thread.

Eurojet I-ERJD, bird strike on take-off out of LIN. We often had them as customers, very sad indeed. Luckily it was a ferry flight.

I saw it on TV as well. I suppose that, unfortunately, none of the crew members survived? RIP...  Sad

I saw the smoke of the plane crash on RAI tv... the crash site was about 5 blocks away from the Giro d'italia.

RIP.

So by bird strike do you mean birds were ingested into both engines? That would be the only possible way a bird strike could cause a crash.

That's what our handling agent in LIN told us: bird strike. I have no other details so far

Cheers
