Why Haven't Any WN -500's Been Repainted?

Have they just not reached their D, or are they planning on phasing this aircraft type out of their fleet?

I believe it's just because they haven't hit the D check....aside from the -700's, they are some of the newest airplanes in the fleet.

I'd be surprised if there's any plans to get rid of them, mainly because the market is so soft right now. Eventually, they might go when Stage IV becomes a reality and demand is higher, but that could easily be a decade from now.

Some of the -200's were painted pretty fast after the introduction of the new livery...I flew on a NC -200 in August of 2001...N95SW I think it was...

There is only -one- SWA 737-200 painted in the new scheme, N96SW, "The Fred Jones"

All the -200s are scheduled to be retired by the end of 2005, so it's doubtful that you'll see any more of them repainted...

Yeah, there's only 1 of our 200's in the new paint, and it wasn't a mistake like everybody was saying. It was done because it needed it terribly. No other reason.

As for the -500's, it's because they haven't reached their D yet. I asked that same question at our 737 mechanical class.

SJCguy or 737doctor - I flew MCI-LAS a few months ago on a 300 that had the new paint. I was kind of hoping to see what the new interiors were like, but this one still had the "old" configuration with the club seats...I thought they were painting and installing seats at the D check...has that changed?
