Aero Continente will launch non-stop service to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti from Miami, Florida starting 18 June with 5x weekly service that increases to daily on 15 July. Service will be operated on behalf of Air d'Ayiti.

Yes, they have done this in the past. I believe this is air d'Ayiti's fourth attempt at MIA. They can't seem to stick with one carrier. They used MiamiAir first, then Aero Continente. They had to suspend service after 9.11 but got back up later on using a Falcon Air 727. That deal didn't last, but now they hired back Aero Continente. From what I know, they fill thier flights easy. They even have a city ticketing office in the business district of Little Haiti that always has lines. They just have trouble keeping a contracter to fly for them. The real problem is that the wealthy Haitians all fly Air France. Who wouldn't when they continue to offer a free hot breakfast and top-quality service on a less than a two hour flight?
