...and we know that the B747 will not be repainted, but what about the MD11, DC8 and A300; when will we have the pleasure to see the new colors on those aircraft? Any idea? Any rumors?

The first ex JAL MD-11 is already flying for UPS in a all white scheme (N270UP). I guess they will paint it soon.

I also heard the DC-8's are staying and will be painted.

The UPS are slowly leaving the fleet and will eventually be replaced by the MD11's...so there is no reason to repaint them if they will leave the fleet within a year or 2.

So they are not getting any more 747's?

I thought they may get some 744 pax and convert them in 2005. Maybe not then.

Will there be enough MD11s? I think there are only some 200 examples flying and they are competing with FedEx and Lufthansa Cargo, which already have large fleets of them flying  Big grin

I think the new c/s will look tits on an MD-11, the longer the plane the better the colors look. The 721 looks like one of those Avanti prop jets with the new colors *gag*

The first MD11 is in the paint shop now. The plan is to repaint all the fleet except for the 747s.
