HB-IOB Last Day Of Operation Today

Spotters in ZRH, PRG and BCN, be alert! Today is the last commercial day of operation for HB-IOB before being neutralized and stored at ZRH!

It will leave ZRH at 13.00 hrs for PRG, returns at 16.25 hrs, leaves ZRH again for BCN at 17.15 hrs and returns at 21.30 hrs. It will overnight inside the hangar where it shall be neutralized.

Good friends of mine used to work for Sabena. Thanks to swissair, everyone's out of a job. For those of you who think that 'swiss' is a different company, then you are either blind, ignorant or naive. It was a good excuse not to owe anything to anybody, nothing more nothing less. Now THAT'S what I call DISGUSTING!

I will never forget what the swiss have done. Out of principle I would never EVER fly on a swiss aircraft in my life again! I would prefer to walk. Obviously I'm not the only one. Why else would things go so bad for them.

Sould I feel sorry for those who may loose their jobs? How could I possibly feel sorry???

I can not respect those who do not respect others!

@9V-SFE: This is plan of the reorganization program with HB-IOA and IOB to leave the fleet. HB-IWP (MD-11) is next, a few more to come.

Seems like there's plenty of blame to go around on the subject of whether SR caused the demise of SN... or whether it was the other way around. Either way, they both went down together; SR to resurface as Swiss and SN as SNBrussels. Inasmuch as once well-managed SR was myopic enough to take on the problems of troubled airlines (SN had turned a profit just once in 37 years, IW was never more than marginal at best) I would place the heavier guilt on SR who couldn't seem to resist the folly of forming an alliance as an end in itself.

Lindy: I guess it's due to overcapacity. There is also a rumour that SWISS is going to phase out all the remaining A-321s when they will present a new business plan this summer.
