I'm glad MAS won as they're service was as good as their food!
It's also no surpise to see Emirates down to 10th as judging by what my wife explained to me when the family flew with them, I was quite shocked at their poor standards of service after seeing so many adverts saying how good they 'allegedly' were. My wife asked one of the f/a to warm up some formula milk for our baby on a recent trip and had to wait 40mins before she had to remind them that she had given them milk to be warmed up, then to her horror the milk was given back filled up higher than she gave it (meaning that the stupid f/a added hot water into the bottle, rather than warmimg the bottle) thus making the formula milk undrinkable! - Absolutely idiotic!

Well done Malaysia Airlines - again!
3 in a row for MAS - its a testament to their excellent service and quality that many of us frequent flyers with them rant about
Now if only they can get their ground staff to buck up to their standards - perhaps we would see MAS climbing even further than 4th in the Best Airline category...
Let's hope MAS continues to climb out of this stormy sky...

I'm wondering the same thing as DTWNWA, where are all the American and European carriers?? Is the service on European and American carriers really that low?

I recently flew BA in coach and it was fine. First time on them long haul and I would go back. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Flight over was not very full and overnight flight, return was full and day light full and staff went above and beyond serving this flight.

NWA was in that top ten list probably 25 years ago. The problem with NWA that those very same cabin staff are still flying with the airline! Which raises the question, which will be retired first: DC-9 or their cabin crew?
Disclaimer. Off course I'm just joking here . . .

I must say it's suprising to see Singapore Airlines slip to 9th position and Emirates 10th, it just shows the hype surrounding these airlines and their supposed high standards of service.

It certainly is very interesting that four of the top ten are from East Asia, three from Southeast Asia, one from South Asia, and two from the Middle East. I do take the results with a pinch of salt. Malaysia seems to be able to get top honor only in Skytrax's surveys. Why? MH is no doubt much better than most US and European carriers. But relative to my experiences on other Asian carriers, cabin staff on MH was pretty mediocre. Among Asian carriers, I would pick CX, SQ, TG, BR, JL, and NH over MH in a heart beat. I won't touch CI, and OZ is unimpressive. I'm pretty astounded how these two can be on the top 5 list.

CONRADS CI! They might not have a good safety record but believe me, THEY DO PROVIDE GREAT SERVICES!!! : )
25 Fa4af: Just goes to prove once again Skytrax and all its related over-hyped surveys are TOTAL NONSENSE!!
26 Tbear815: Flew CO last year. In 40+ years of flying both as pax and crew, it was a first flight for me - and a last. To think I'd paid for First Class, no less.
28 Rootsgirl: Would somebody be kind enough to give me examples of the " great servivce" and exactly what they are doing to surpass others in the same profession? A
29 Mas777: Interesting point rootsgirl - the Skytrax survey is a 'survey' so by definition it is a cross-sectional vote by respondants. I guess its just that's w
30 Notar520AC: I agree with Luv2fly- I flew BA long haul for the first time this year, and was very happy with their service. Jolly good Brits! _NOTAR520AC
31 Chrisrad: Sorry I don't want to stir the pot, but I find it funny that there is no comment from Singapore_Air and his beloved airline?
32 Swissgabe: Congratulations to SriLankan Airlines Cabin Staff. They really did a great job and good to see them ahead of most Asian carriers. They are really on t
