According to Cathay Pacific's schedules, the A340-600 is scheduled to operate CX107/26Jun and CX107/28Jun (and subsequently CX108/27Jun and CX108/29Jun) down to Auckland.
While I'm not complaining at the chance of even seeing the 340-600 at AKL (never mind flying it), I was wondering about the accuracy of this information. Anyone able to tell me if CX are likely to revert back to the traditional 340-300 before those dates and if they actually are planning to op the -600s down to NZ, why?

ZK-NBT: No idea, but apparently the two that they have now are parked. Sydney has reverted back to 333 service for the time being. I was wondering if the A340-600 might have a problem finding a gate at AKL due to its length...

CX's A340-642s have been to a few Asian Destinations as well as LAX and SYD. In fact, SYD has been served by the A340-642 as CX101/100 since April until end of May and is planned to return service as CX101/100 from July onwards.
