Hi all,

A few hours ago, a brand new QF B738 arrived in HNL for its delivery flight as QF6024. I'd like to know where its next destination is and what time it will leave HNL.

Thanks for your help!  Smile

Jerrold

Does the 737-800 have enough range to go from Hawaii to Australia? Seems kinda far. Just a rough estimate, LA to Hawaii is five hours. LA to Sydney is 14. That's a 9 hour difference. Although they could always land in Cairns for fuel.

Two rules in aviation, don't hit anything and don't run out of gas, cause if you run out of gas yer gonna hit something.

I'm sure with no payload it can make it. Air Pacific flys Fiji-HNL with pax in their -800's.

A/C is VH-VXQ.

Dinker225 - Yes they do when empty. I think all of QF's and DJ's deliveries have done it through HNL-BNE or somewhere similar.

Thanks for your replies!  Smile

I thought QF's last B738 was VH-VXO?!?! How many more B738s do they have on order? (I thought they had 15 on order—VH-VXP was already delivered and that would make 16!  Confused

Actually, DJ delivered their B737-700/800s through OGG instead of HNL. I would have loved to photographed them in HNL!

Can anyone please find the departure date/time it'll leave HNL? I just have to photograph VH-VHQ leaving, since I missed all 15/16 B738s delivered before!  Wow!  Sad

Thanks once again!

Jerrold

Dinker,
Those empty -800's can make Hnl-Syd no trouble at all.
Virgin Blue's first -700 did Sea-Wlg non-stop on delivery as a bit of a publicity stunt to bid for Trans-Tasman rights.  Smile

I just noticed that QF's -800 just departed HNL and is bound for Nadia.

I ended up missing her, since I didn't know the departure time. I went to the airport at about 09:20 and she was gone!  Sad Oh well, just hope QF still has a couple more B738s on order . . .

The 738's were of course deferred American Airlines slots and at the time Qantas to take as many as 75 new 737's though obviously these have not all been taken up. Many would wonder where all these 737's would be used. I can't figure it out.

I remember when the DC-3 was new!

ERJ135 - These 4 new 737s that are being delivered now (VXP onwards) are unfortunately QF's order and not AA's.
