The new Mexican start-up Olympus Air just went to A.S.P.A (Pilots Union in Mexico) and hired AM MD80 pilots (only fot this ferry flights) to go get 2 MD80s within the next 10 - 15 days to FIJI..... anyone knows anything about MD80s being stand at any airport in FIJI? (Previos operator, series, registrations....)

When I heard this for first time I thought it was a joke, but they said it is for real... they are going to FIJI to pick up 2 MD80s....really strange.... aninfo it's really appreciated!

BTW, first flight it´s going to be on July 9th of this year..... route..... MEX-CUN-MEX.....

Ghost77:

Do you know who or which company is behind this new start up??? I really don't know what all this new schedule start ups are thinking, maybe that JR will go down and they can take some routes or that there is a sleeping market in Mexico that it will soon awake...

Thanks for the info.

Rojo,

The company behind all this it's Olympus Tours a charter operator, something simliar to ONVISA, but Olympus it's getting stronger and they are fighting really hard in Cancún with Magnitur the charter operator of Magnicharters...

So, now they want to have their own aircrafts just like GTM..
