Hello

There is an interesting interview in today's Basler Zeitung with an EasyJet official. Easy Jet Switzerland is seriously thinking about stopping the Zurich flights and to set up a base in Basel with at least 6 aircraft based.
They said that Basel matches the EasyJet wishes perfectly: good infrastructure, no delays, lower taxes/fees and 2.5-3 million people living in the reach of the airport.

"If we now had to choose between Basel and Zurich, we would prefer Basel," the official said.

Just thought that this might be of some interest to you!

It would a good idea to set up an EasyJet Switzerland base in Basle but I think that Geneva and Basle are too close from each other.

Maybe but I don't think that the Basel flights would take away passengers from Geneva.

EasyJet has also the problem that they ordered 120(?) Airbus aircraft. They need to find new airports to serve!

Good evening,

Dens,

That's only the prelim schedule and I wouldn't trust it too much. After all, last year it included Rome and Madird too and nothing happened.

RJ100,

That's rather interesting news about an easyJet base in Basel. It would certainly be brilliant news for the airport.
