Listening to the live audio on Airbus.com from the Qatar Airways order this afternoon, I thought I heard Akbar Al Baker (CEO) say "We will launch Zurich" or something like that, then again I thought I might simply be confusing it with something else since the sound wasn't particularly clear.

Well the following is included in the press release at Airbus.com:

***quote***
“We use the A319LR to open new routes which will then be operated with our A300s and soon with our A330s. We are going to start flying to Moscow and later to Zurich. In addition to its comfort, this aircraft is a real money-spinner for airlines, allowing us to operate with an 85 per cent load factor,” said Akbar Al Baker.
***(unquote)***

Looks like the rumours were correct. However still no firm date.

Would be really great if we cold see Qatar Airways offering flights into ZRH as soon as possible. Maybe starting with the Winter schedule?

That's excellent news! Especially since A319 A7-CJA is in the hangar for maintenance since a few weeks (briefly left for Le Bourget Air Show on the 18th but returned today 20th).
This way, we can get used to the new view...  Nuts
