Where To Get Cubana Tickets?

Hello,

I am currently in Germany, and I am planning a trip that would include a YYZ-HAV v.v. flight, leaving early August, returning late September (I am not American). I know both Lacsa and Cubana fly this route, but have only found quotes for Lacsa. Anyone know where I can get quotes for Cubana (and whether they are competitive to Lacsa's fares).
Also, does anyone know if I can earn AA miles on the Lacsa flight seeing that it goes to HAV.

Thanks,
Thomas

Hello

Try to go into a travel agency. Tell them what flight you want to be on and they will say you the price.

Try http://www.airliners.net/discussions/non_aviation/index.main, you can find the addresses of their offices there.

Try Cubana ticket office in Montreal. They take reservations for all flights leaving from Canada YUL Montreal and YYZ Toronto. Their phone number is 514-871-1222. There is also a tour company in Toronto representing Cubana. They are called "Hola Sun". They also sell tickets on Cubana from YYZ. To access Hola Sun, you have to do it through a travel agency.

The Berlin oofice for Cubana has closed. The Montreal office is your best bet. They were very helpful when I bought a ticket to HAV from YUL last year. As mentioned, its located on St. Jacques, and you cant miss it because of the huge neon Cubana sign out front. This is also the office for Sol y Son, Cubana's travel and tour affiliate (also the name of the Cubana inflight magazine) who can book hotels etc. Cubana doesn't have an office in Toronto, but their Sol Y Son affiliate does, located at 160 Bloor St., Toronto, ON, M4W 1B9 http://www.solysonvacations.com/.

Be prepared for some non-competitive pricing though. Cubana relies heavily on inclusive tour companies for its passengers, and not so much on just regular people traveling flight only. I paid CAD525 return to travel on an aging chartered AOM DC-10. If you want to travel to Havana more cheaply, and on more modern equipment, go Air Transat.

Air Transat does not fly to Havana. They fly basicaly everywhere in Cuba, except to Havana. If you catch an Air Transat flight, fly to Varadero and then take the bus. There is a bus service (ViaZul...several buses every day) that goes from VRA to HAV. Very confortable buses, air conditioning and even onboard service (sandwiches $, soft drinks $, etc...). The ticket will cost you about $25.00 USD return. Travel time between VRA and HAV is approximately 2 hours.

Remember that CU also flies A-320's from Montreal and Toronto.
