Caught this one at BFI Tuesday after it was seen Sunday with its tail down. I guess it's destined for Smirhsonian in DC, but will it be able to fly there?? According to the FAA database, N70700 looks like a valid registration for an airworthy aircraft ...
N70700 is the original 707 prototype, however the production models had a wider fuselage.

My understanding was that Boeing did restore the aircraft to flying condition a couple of years back. It had been stored out in the desert for several years.

Presumably when the Smithsonian gets their new building built, it will be flow there for display.

The 367-80 wa stored at AMARC from 1972 until 1997(?) and it will be flown to IAD later this year for permanent display, as will the 307.

I wathched both leave DMA and really wish they had stayed here in Tucson. Oh well, more people will be able to see them at the NASM.
