Hello

On the upper part of the fuselage there are three regions of red demarcations. I cannot make out what it says, or determine what the purpose of these may be. Anyone know?

Thanks

They are Emergency Exit signs.

More exactly, they indicate to rescue workers where it is safe to cut thru the aircraft skin in order to get to the interior, should the emergency exits be unavailable.

Thank you for the reply.

Are these put in place as a result of the Saudi L-1011 fire in 1980? In that incident, all 300+ aboard died, even though the plane made a safe emergency landing. After landing, fire rescue teams were unable to open the doors and free passengers from the burning aircraft. I haven't seen these on other 777s or any other aircraft / airline. Interesting feature though.

They are on all planes for safety reasons not just Saudi.
