Hi, I need a bit of advice from the people "in the know".

I want to fly to New York on Boxing day from London and return 1 week later.

While in the states I'd like to get over to Vegas for a couple of days around the middle of the week, what is my best bet airline and fare wise?

Thanks in advance.

By then I believe Song, the new Delta low-fare airline, will be operating JFK-LAS. I'm sure America West will match fares, so you should have no problem finding a low fare.

I'd go with JetBlue from JFK to LAS, as it is like a 4 hour flight or close to it, and JetBlue offers leather seats, with PTV's of DirectTV (like 25 channels of live TV)... It really makes the flight go faster, and jetBlue is probably cheaper or comparable to all the others mentioned...

TZ from LGA or EWR to LAS. Fares are pretty cheap right now. I saw a family fly round trip from GRR to LAS for $170

Using Yahoo! Travel and the Dates of 30 December and 1 January, the lowest fare I found was on Delta at $235. The options are Song non-stop (B757 service), or connect in SLC on the way out there (B757 for both JFK-SLC and SLC-LAS); on the return it is the non-stop Song B757.

AirTran has fares for $242 out of LGA, via ATL both ways. The LGA-ATL flights are on B717, the LAS segments are on A320.

I'm sure you can get somw great fares the day after Xmas. Usually that's when the fares starts to go down.
