Check out this pic--look at the size of the 743 in comparison to that little dinky plane that looks a plastic model....

Hmmm that little plane in the background appears to be a PA-28 variant. Not surprised it looks small- it's like trying to compare a mini with a semi-trailer. But you're right anything looks small when compared to the 747. Even a 737, which is quite a large plane when you get up close to it is tiny compared to the mighty 747  Smile

I also felt that the scene in the International terminals of US airports are an absolute "leap" of difference when you compare it with the domestic terminals.

i.e. Be a seasoned domestic flyer on narrowbodies (737, A32x) and then, go over to the international terminal to planespot and you'll notice the massive difference (pun optional...you decide)

It's only a massive difference when you see a 747 though. A lot of domestic jets these days are quite large anyway and in some cases as big as their international counterparts. Really there isn't that much obvious difference in size between a 737-800/900 and a 767-200/300 or a 757-200. It's not as claer cut as it used to be- these days the 737NG could even be classed as an international jet.

Positive rate, I reckon it's a Piper PA-32 Cherokee Six. Measuring in at 8.44 metres it's only 5% the size of the 70.7 metre long B747-300.

AJ i reckon you're correct. On closer inspection is does look too long to be a PA28 and more like a Cherokee six.

AJ are you quite sure about your mathematics there? Big grin

..and besides, to place the bigger plane in front of the smaller one does add considerably to the difference in size!

I know it's only VfB but I like it!

I'd rather be in the Cherokee than the 747.  Big thumbs up

D'oh! The PA-32 is 3.44 metres long, not 8.44!
