Good news if they are making money on their flights already. I know for sure that I did not help them earn a cent yet so far...
If they manage to make money with the fairly expensive (high leasing rates)Airbuses than they might not consider downgrading to a cheaper model.

But: We need a cheap carrier at FRA. Germany´s largest airport, only expensive flights. Not good.

Swissgabe, why would Germanwings want to use Terminal B? As a low cost carrier, they're not keen on spending money for push-outs! Open parking positions is what they're looking for!

Terminal B southern stands (B32, B34, B36 and possibly B38) will probably be converted to open stand for self power taxi in and out (CRJ's, CR7's) while the northern stands (B31, B33, B35, B37) will be used for long term parking for SQ, MH, TG, SA, UL, etc.

Terminal B is already fully booked in this respect...

Germanwings asked slots for Amsterdam for the winteseason 2003/2004.
7 daily flights are requested to Berlin, Stuttgart and Zurich

According to the Reuters article (only in German), Germanwings wants to wait until the end of the year whether to open a base abroad (i.e. Zurich).

"We will open a base abroad as soon as Germanwings can earn money with that kind of business" (CEO Friedrich-Wilhelm Weitholz).
