it came up as song flight 9965**
FLL-ATL
8:24-9:43
departure gate: OPS (ATL)
arrival gate: D6 (FLL)
anyone know if i'm right as to why it was flying and anyone know if there was anyone on board?

will Song fly ALL FLL-LGA flights or leave one option for us non-song people? I really wanted to fly a 738 on that route, but if they remove that, i'll have to fly it FLL-DFW or ATL-wherever
Where will song be in LGA. regular terminal or shuttle terminal? and which gates do they use at FLL? they HAD 2 but i read that comair flights go into one of them.

SONG uses gates D1 and D2 at FLL. At LGA, I'm sure SONG will use the main terminal and not the Marine Air Terminal (Shuttle).

Delta is so crammed at the regular terminal. I just checked and with 4 flights to FLL and multiple flights to TPA, MCO, and PBI they will need 2+ gates. also in FLL they will probably need one more gate. if i'm not mistaking, SONG gates are only for song.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but why send the plane down there empty? Couldn't they have sold some seats on the "positioning" flight and made money???

No - the "readiness" of the aircraft is preliminary, so it is difficult to make plans by selling seats when you are not exactly sure when the aircraft will be ready, they would have had to have had flight attendants ready as well. That said, if there had been a ATL-FLL cancellation, and a crew to fly it - they would have definately used it for revenue operations to protect those passengers!
