America West Announces New Service to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Monday July 14, 2:00 pm ET

PHOENIX, July 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA - News), the second largest low-fare carrier in the U.S., announced today that it will initiate the only daily nonstop, roundtrip service between its Phoenix hub and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on Oct. 20, 2003.
Edmonton will be America West's fourth destination in Canada, where the airline currently provides low-fare service in Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto. America West offers affordable fares that do not require a Saturday night stay as well as flexible ticketing policies that allow unused tickets to retain their value for a year and allow customers to fly standby for free on the same day as their originally scheduled flight.

"We are happy to capitalize on strategic opportunities to expand our service to Canada," said Dion Flannery, vice president, route planning, scheduling and Internet distribution. "Customers will appreciate our flexible and affordable fares."

Representatives from America West and Edmonton International Airport have been working very closely to facilitate a smooth transition for the airline's new service.

"We are proud to welcome America West to Edmonton," said Scott Clements, president and chief executive officer, Edmonton Airports. "America West's convenient connections to California and Mexico offer great new options for our region's business and leisure travelers."

America West Express, which is operated by subsidiary airlines of Mesa Air Group, will provide the daily nonstop, roundtrip flights utilizing the popular 64-seat Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ) aircraft, which features seating for six in first class and 58 in the main cabin. This new service will offer customers connections to 48 cities across the U.S. and Mexico.

The flight schedule for the new service is listed below.
