What if a webpage were created, either as a branch off of A.net or as a separate webpage. The site would be like A.net, except with only a photo database and a photo request forum. I do some decent work myself, though I don't put it on the internet. I do new liveries for airlines. I would be a founding member along with people like mikephotos and ryefly. Id like to hear you guys weigh in. Especially mikephotos, ryefly, AirOrange, N863DA, Braniff Place, and anyone else who does this. Also, quality standards wouldn't be AS high as here but still so there was quality stuff. I do my work with Paint. I dont bother with Photoshop, Illustrator, or Photoshop Elements.

I think it would be a fun website. I don't have a lot of time to do a lot of images any more but I would still contribute as often as I could. What would be cool and easier for most artists is if there was a section where photographers could contribute some of their photographs that are pre-authorized to edit in advance. That way if someone decides they want to do a scheme they have a selection to choose from without waiting to hear back from the photographer for permission first. I don't think most photographers would mind as long as they can put a watermark copyright with their name on the photo with a link to the original. Pictures of planes with an all white scheme and no titles would be preferred.

I'm not sure I would have enough time to be a founding member but I'm sure I'd be able to "submit" a few uploads  Big grin

Im sure Johan would not mind having us on his servers but there is only so much space on those servers which means less space for pics.

Try asking this question in the "Site Related" forum below. Johan is always reading and posting there.

Someday, we'll look back at this, laugh nervously, and then change the subject.

I have a few suggestions for what the website could have. First as I said before I think it would be cool to have a database of photographs where photographers can submit pictures as templates. Then artist could have a membership in which they can enter a password and access these pictures in order to create schemes. By doing so they agree that the use of the photo is for digital enhancement only and can't be used outside the website with out contacting the photographer first.

Then for the digital enhancement library, it could be set up much like the database that this website has. Each airline available in a list and when you click on the name of the airline there are pictures of that airlines paint scheme past or present on aircraft they don't have in their fleet. Then I think there should be another section devoted for original paint scheme designs where artist can create their own paint schemes and designs for airlines much like what I do and Air Orange. This can include logo or theme aircraft for airlines not already available. For example, a Oneworld scheme. Finally, of course a request list where people can submit what they would like to see.

Well anyway those are some of my thoughts.

I think that's a GREAT idea.

My advice, is to do it on your own, not on Johan's server, no offense to him.

It's your idea nad if you do it on your own, you are in control of your own world. Then, I would workout a PARTNERSHIP with Airliners.net nad Johan and work hand in hand.

If there is anything I can do for you, I have online marketing experience and I do video work with planes. I'd love to be involved in any way.

I am not a very technical person when it comes to building a site, so I don't know how much I could help in the construction of the site. I can contribute however by creating a logo for the site and submitting digital enhancement pictures of course as often as my schedule allows me to do.
