The aircraft looks very nice especially when seen head on. The gold looks more like bronze.

I was flying DXB-DOH on a Qatar Airways A330-200 A7-ACD 12th July 2003. While we were taxiing to the runway I saw the same A320 heading to the terminal, it was around 7 pm with similar weather conditions. Could it possibly be that Bailey took a picture of my flight back to Doha?

Wow...egad..it's..well...ugly!
Looks phenomonal on the bigger birds..but doesn't lend itself too well to the the 320.
Maybe it's just a bad angle...'cause I like the overall scheme.

QatarAirways

Small world! It was indeed taken on 12 July just after sunset so it must be your flight. If you saw the Singapore Airlines B777 and wondered why one of the crew was outside with a camera well now you know.

Amazingly, I even managed some in focus pics of you taking off, despite it being almost dark. Thanks to Canon and not me. If you'd like a copy leave a note here.

Cheers

The livery is a bit over the top for the European taste, and its suits the A340/330 better than the A320.
When I saw a A330 in this colours first about two months ago while landing at FRA I thought it was a sheik´s private bird, head-on, completely gold.

I somehow like this livery. An airline that has b....

Gulf Air has traditionally had very nice color schemes; their former "regular" and "special" liveries as I think was mentioned in another topic a while back. I like this one a lot, too. Professional design and good colors. Dare I say contemporary without being TOO trendy?...Jack

I actually like the livery but in IMHO the titling should be a bit larger and in a different colour as it is difficult to see. One thing that would be interesting too see would be how the gold colour lasts in the hot, humid and sunny Gulf.

Ejazz,

Small world indeed  Smile I would love to see a photo of the take off if it isn't too much trouble.

Ejazz,

This is a wild question, but just wondering if you were scheduled by some off chance you were scheduled to fly a SIN - MAN flight on AUG 26? All I know is it is a Singapore Air 777. Can't wait to experience that flight.  Smile

Just curious.

CAETravlr,

Unfortunately, at this time it will not be me. I need a MAN urgently too to stock up on black pudding and other top notch Brit cuisine  Smile

Are you with CAE???

Cheers

Ejazz,

Actually, CAE is the airport code of the city where I live. Columbia, South Carolina, USA.

The SIN - MAN leg is part of a much longer trip that I will be taking.

CAE - IAD - FRA - BKK - DPS going over

DPS - SIN - MAN - IAD - CAE coming home.  Smile

Using a few of my United Airlines FF miles to fly some of the Star Airlines, as well as see some amazing destinations. 3 days in Bali, 2 days in SIN, and passing through MAN to hopefully pick up some Caffreys Irish Ale since we can no longer get it in the US.  Smile

Regards,
CAETravlr

Any spotting tips or other tourist tips for while I am in SIN?
