Hi all,

I thought I would share that Air Force 2 showed up at YYT this afternoon. I was just starting work and I noticed a strange looking plane on approach to runway 29. As it got closer, I saw that it was a Boeing C-32 wearing the colors of Presidential aircraft.
The plane was well down the runway before I heard what I thought was reverse thrust, however, it was the a/c powering up for an overshoot or a touch and go. I couldn't actually see.
I then saw it a few minutes later on approach again, this time with a full stop. It then taxied to the Irving ramp where it was refueled and parked for the night.
Of coarse, it was not actually AF2. There was not a lot of security around the a/c. I believe the reg was 99-003, however, I'm not sure because it was too far for me to see. And of coarse, the very day I didn't bring my camera to work with me, something exciting shows up.
Hopefully it will still be there tomorrow so I can get some pictures.
If anyone has any info on its visit, please let me know.

Do these C-32's regularly refuel at YYT or Gander or Goose Bay?

Panam, TWA, Ansett, Eastern.......AC next? Might be good for Canada.

AF 2 is the callsign when Vice-President is on board.

I believe the reg was 99-003

Everybody always forgets the extra 0, Alpha...  Sad Sometimes it's an actual digit though.

Ren41, I dare you to find out! Big grin

Maybe it was doing field familiarization...I dare say YYT is one of their ETOPS
(-equivalent) alternates and maybe they don't want to do everything in the sim.

The C32 has been to MHT (Manchester, NH) quite a few times, usually during the election years. It will be interesting to see if AF1 shows up this year now that MHT has completed the lengthening of their runways to accommodate a 747.
If it shows up I will do my best to photograph it for A.net

Yyz717,

This was the first time that I have ever seen or heard of the C-32 visiting YYT. I have seen the VC-9's here on a couple of occasions though.
Hopefully we will see more C-32's come to town.
Ultimately, I would like to see AF 1 drop in, but I'd say the chances of that happening are slim to none.
