The new Star Alliance design has been received with some criticism, but at the same time, some applications are liked better than others.
So let's try to find out which we like best. When voting, consider aspects such as the tail colour, size and position of the Star Alliance titles, airline titles and logos, engine colour and other details.

On a side note, I heard that Star Alliance is trying to arrange to get as many logojets together as possible for a photo shoot. This will probably take place in FRA (where for example, I saw six different logojets in one morning).

OK, here are the candidates (and I hope I didn't forget anything, who knows, maybe another one is just leaving some paintshop. At the same time, I'm leaving out the older designs):

I like the Lufthansa CRJ-700, the Spanair A320 and the Asiana and Lufthansa black-tail 763 best.
The star livery just looks best on smaller aircraft.

What is the deal with the black and white tails?

The black looks far better in my opinion.

Lufthansa B767-300 black tail

They're all way too boring. Thank goodness they don't paint all of thier planes this dull.

The Star Alliance jets with all the airlines' logos look much better.

Seen her in real life 2 times and really like the design, especially the logos on the winglet!

I think the Star-Alliance- Logo shouldnt be painted onto the planes, every airline should keep it's idendity.

The new Star Alliance livery looks disgusting on every plane because it is cheap and unimaginative, a special livery should look attractive and colorful in my opinion. I really miss the old Star Alliance colors!

aerosol: I was going to say the same thing!

Other than that, anything with a dark tail is better than the white tail. I'd go for the Lufthansa 747 as favourite, personally.

(Erm, since when does LH have 767s? Godm how little I keep track of these things anymore!)

Ikarus

LH is leasing 767s from Condor (or are they ex-LTU machines?) till they take delivery of their A330s...the ones the ordered, not the ones they are leasing right now.

Come on, we need more votes (even if you're critical of the new livery)!
So far, the score is (counting Max' vote for the first out of the four he mentioned):

LH CRJ700: II
LH B767 black: I
Thai B747: I
Austrian A330: I

My vote's for the Austrian A330-200. The A330 is a gorgeous aircraft!!

Does anyone know if Star Alliance is requiring all of its member airlines to paint at least one of their aircraft in these new colors?

For me, I'll be interested to see which aircraft United paints in a Star Alliance scheme...

I'd be as interested to see if SIA does paint an aircraft in Star Alliance colours? Heard a rumour that they were going to paint a B747 and a B777-200ER in those colours.

Yes, each member is now required to paint some aircraft (I think 3% of their fleet, which would be a lot in the case of UA). Last thing I heard was that SQ will do a 744 (with the white tail of course, since it was developed at their request).

3% of the fleet? For SQ it would mean 2 or 3 aircraft, most likely a B744 and a B772 will get it. Hoping for a B773, that will look much nicer although I still detest the tacky Star Alliance livery.

Asiana 767-300 and A321 Big grin maybe because I am biased...or maybe because they are the only ones wearing the new star scheme I've ever seen... But if I had to choose only one, then I'd say Asiana 767...

At least Star Alliance did away with the ugly "all Star Alliance airlines colors splashed on fuselage" scheme. Plus, the aircraft's logo (Lufthansa, lauda, etc...) is at the bottom front quarter of the aircraft so we'd be able to identify what airline this aircraft belongs to.

Oh, my vote? The CRJ-700.

@ Ikarus an Boeing forever:
the 2 LH 767s are leased from Lauda Air - ex OE-LAY/LAZ

25 Mas a330 : My vote goes to the Austrian A332
26 UnitedFirst : Last thing I heard was that SQ will do a 744 (with the white tail of course, since it was developed at their request). Why did they want white-tailed
27 YUL2010 : Austrian A330-200.... I like the white tail. Any news on which aircraft AC will have the Star logo? Will it be the same A340 they have now? YUL2010
28 Usairwys757 : I agree with aerosol taht 747 with all the different airlines on it has to be the best. I love the section with the UA colors.
29 Fly-K : The reason for SQ not wanting a black tail is superstition. Konstantin
30 Srbmod : With ATL getting the Condor 767 daily, I've seen both versions of the Star Alliance livery, and I really like the black tail. Condor's 767s came from
31 Post contains links and images Vafi88 : Bleh! I hate those new Star Alliance colors!!! I say the older livery is really nice and classy. View Large View MediumPhoto © Alexander Kroychik
32 Post contains images Ryefly : The new star alliance scheme is not that awful, but it is very bland. I can understand why they went to this scheme, but the could have been a little
33 Dtwintlflyer : Ryefly-Very nice....too bad that won't be the livery
34 Post contains images MD11LuxuryLinr : I guess I'm one of the few that's totally in love with this plane. It just needs blue engine cowlings and UNITED AIRLINES on the front
35 Skymileman : I agree with Vafi88, the new schemes are no where near as good as the ones like he has shown. I personally liked the old Air Canada One, myself.
36 Fly-K : Update of the scores (if you voted for more than one, only the first choice was counted) 1. Austrian A330: 4 2. LH CRJ700: 3 3. LH B767 black: 2 LH 76
37 Post contains images BDRules : Id better put my vote to bmi A321 then its got some blue, black and white so its a colourful one
38 Post contains links and images ElPelon : What about this Mexicana 757, with all the star alliance members logo?? View Large View MediumPhoto © Ricardo Morales Aviation Photography of Mex
39 Raven111 : The CRJ-700 gets my vote. We had one on our ramp overnight a couple of months ago. It was the first time I had seen it.
40 Pilottim747 : Lufthansa CRJ-700 pilottim747
41 Fly-K : EIPelon, I was limiting the vote to the *new* Star colours. Don't worry, I know about Mexicana's 757, I have flown on it myself! Konstantin
