Status Of Gates 90-99 At MCO

Hi Everyone! I had a question that I've been thinking about since I flew last week. Before my flight left, I decided to take a walk around Concourse 4 (Gates 60-99) since I haven't been able to just walk around since before 9/11. Anyhow... While I was walking around I went down to gates 90-99 (my old stomping grounds when I always flew on DLX all the time) and it was miserable seeing what I saw. This once busy and crowded corridor of the terminal that I use to always use for DLX was completely empty and barren with the exception of a couple TSA agents sitting down watching CNN on the TVs. In addition to nobody there, there was only one aircraft (N316DL - http://www.planepictures.net/netshow.cgi?118940) at gate 92. It was depressing to me because this area is where I starting my life of flying and what got me into it. There were a lot of memories of vacations starting and family visiting and walking down most of those gates. Anyhow, now there is nothing going on down there and I'm wondering when Delta is going to reuse these gates instead of compressing all the flights into Gates 70-89. And when I came home on July 21 on Chautaqua (or however that's spelled) we taxied right past 90-99 again and this time ALL the planes were gone over there. So finally, does anyone know what the plans are for the section of the terminal now that DLX is almost completely gone? Does anyone besides me think that Song should move over there once they get fully established just like how DLX used only 90-99. Any comment is appreciated. See ya!

I could see Song there. I doubt Delta will let those gates go completely unused. Maybe some of them could be changed into RJ gates for Comair and Chautaqua. I can remember someone saying their current facility is kind of cramped.

Where is Song supposed to park once they start taking over the Delta Express routes? and adding those new routes?

I would think that they would park at 90-99.

When I first moved down to Orlando back in May, there were two MD-11s parked at those gates.

But yeah, I drove by MCO today and there was nothing there.

Very cramped indeed...I was waiting for a flight down there back in April, and people were either standing or sitting on the floor because all the seats were taken. Very warm down there too with all the bodies crammed in there.

Right now Song occupies something like three gates in the 70-79 hallway. Because of this, Delta has had to put a few of it's flights down in Gates 80-89 while 90-99 is vacant and empty. But all the boarding displays down there still say "Delta Express". But the remaining DLX flights are leaving from 70-79. What a stupid move by Delta.

Yeah but once Song gets in full operation by late fall, I think 90-99 will be used again.
