I have to thank you too for this service. Otherwise we would not get the information about interesting aircrafts being in Zurich.
BTW do you know where the Swiss A 343 is usually parked? At the A-gates visible from the observation deck or not. Or is it probably always parked at different gates and you must be lucky to see it from the terrace?

Hello ZRH spotters.

Who of you guys was on the spectators gallery on Monday? I had to drive someone to the airport and as soon as I entered the spectator's gallery I saw the IL-76 landing. I didn't even know that this plane was expected. That was a good timing  Smile

I saw you guys running around with the cameras LOL

I was wearing a white Novartis-Polo shirt. But I don't think someone noticed me.

Regards and happy spotting.

Guys, you're most welcome! I'm glad to be of help! I'm able to access several databases so why not spreading news as long as it's not requested to be secret.

Remember: it's the other An-124 of Libyan Air Cargo! 5A-DKL was here once, but now 5A-DKN is planned!

LX A340 is usually parked at the southside of Terminal A, i.e. in between the two old piers and nicely visible from the terrace! I've seen it being parked at Terminal B, too, but that was also in between the piers.

Small change of plans:

new arrival time planned to be 14.30 hrs local time (call sign IIG2600)
new departure time planned at 17.30 hrs local time (call sign IIG2601)

aircraft planned is still 5A-DKN

As the weather forecast for tomorrow is sunny and warm, the change suits me very well (off duty by then, lower sun).

Happy shooting and cheers!

Andrew, from experience and from the planned parking position, landing on runway 16 is most likely. Departure rather from runway 16 or 34. Reason for this is the wingspan and the pilots might not be familiar with ZRH hence a short taxi distance is desirable.

Parking position planned is W23 (where the SQ B744 is parked right now).

Good luck!

Ths reminds me of the last time we had a Lybian 124 here (last year). I was all set up at the treshold 16 (on the hill behind the DC-8) and listened to the scanner... To my surprise and to the surprise of everyone around me, the controller asked the 124 if they can accept Rwy 28... After a few seconds of silence, they accepted.... Most of the spotters left immediately, leaving me behind, wondering how the 124 would get all the way to 28, with this wingspan..... To my relief, another controller (I think it was ground) then switched the clearance to 16, and I had to pull my voice together for shouting at the spotters on the way to their cars, convincing them to come back....

Andrew,
I'll be at the 2nd parking lot (north/besides Threshold rwy 14) to get it on App, and maybe then for departure (if DEP rwy 16) on the parking lot at the end of rwy 16...

Fred, it's declared a non-commercial flight hence not published. The slot is still valid, no flightplan filed though... As soon as I know something, will place it here, ok?

It's not yet confirmed but at least the flight plan has been filed.
