I just can't believe this! This is a long flight for small jet CRJ700 to Fayetteville, Arkansas from Los Angeles effective August 5th. I don't know if there is enough loads to this place such a small town! What do you think about this flight route?

I'm sure Wal-Mart had a huge role in it. Someone mentioned earlier rumors of bringing back TUL-LAX on Eagle, any word on this?

what i don't understand is the big deal with going through DFW. Sure, its convinent for WalMart, but i dont think that an hour added to your flight for a connection is that bad.

Wal-Mart has basically ensured it will be profitable. The convenience of it is what drives it. The flight is only going to be about three and a half hours and will feature a light meal of some sort. It isn't really much longer than other CRJ routes of the past like PHX-DSM, DFW-BOI, etc.

Fayetteville may be a "small town" (it isn't really) but the level of traffic is amazing. It is tied for American Eagle's largest outstation (with Wichita I believe). Big business in the county is the draw for the airline service. I believe Northwest Airlink just added XNA-MSP service and Delta Connection is adding more as well.

Sure, they could connect, but the demand for a non-stop is there so why not run it.

XNA is a huge yielding market. This year, they have welcomed non-stop service to EWR, IAH, MSP, CVG, and LAX! Plus American Airlines upgraded some DFW-XNA service to mainline.
