Delta is beefing up service between Atlanta and the Bay Area, no doubt in response to jetBlue. ATL-OAK goes from daily to thrice daily, and ATL-OAK gets a sixth daily service.

SFO gets 1 add'l daily and OAK gets 2 new flights on the 737-800.

Look for a triple miles promo of some sort as well as fares around the $100 - 125 level when the sales rollout begins.

Yes, as for sixth daily roundtrip nonstop from SFO-ATL flight by these redeyes overnight, too. This is great smart move for SFO really need beefing up with those nonstop to OAK & SFO, too. This is after response for jetBlue is already to begin nonstop from ATL-OAK in the morning flight, too.  Smile Well, talk ya later!

Regards!

Maybe DL can name some new routes and frequencies without following B6's lead. Big grin

I'm glad to see DL increasing service to the Bay. DL's west-coast presence has been severely cut in the past couple years...I never thought I'd see the day when they increase service to SFO and OAK. Thanks to JetBlue for competition and more flights!

I would like to see them be more pro active instead of being so reactive!

Delta has no motive to be pro-active. They flew the West Coast service their cost structure can support in the current market, until JetBlue and AirTran came along. And if JetBlue left the Bay Area market, you can be sure those new Delta flights would be cut back so fast it would make your head spin. And no more triple miles either.

Who knows, the density of the market might support both. But we can sure that Delta would rather go back to high fares and low volume.
