I'm glad to see DL increasing service to the Bay. DL's west-coast presence has been severely cut in the past couple years...I never thought I'd see the day when they increase service to SFO and OAK. Thanks to JetBlue for competition and more flights!

Delta has no motive to be pro-active. They flew the West Coast service their cost structure can support in the current market, until JetBlue and AirTran came along. And if JetBlue left the Bay Area market, you can be sure those new Delta flights would be cut back so fast it would make your head spin. And no more triple miles either.
Who knows, the density of the market might support both. But we can sure that Delta would rather go back to high fares and low volume.
