I think it might have been early on in SARS due to the snowy, wintery weather in South Korea. I dont think i would have liked that underwater task much...I agree that one thing that really gets on my nerves about the show is the aircraft camera shots. AAAH! I wonder how one does take off from Schiphol in a KL 744 and land in Milan on an AA md-80. Gotta try that.

I think the approximate date would be February 6, 2003 of episode July 31, 2003. Looks like When tian/jaree got eliminated that was Feb 2. The married couple (#2 spot, 07/31/03 episode) were married on February 2. So that is my approximate. Need to watch I believe the July 17 episode and visit all the teams EXCLUSIVE VIDEO in the official AR4 website...to believe me...

I absolutely love this show and even though the airplane footage doesn't match most times, it does a pretty good job in showing the airports. The fact that they did some footage around the Indian airports was excellent beyond words!
One question though, how if the teams only have 400 dollars to complete the task, do they get from Borneo to Seoul walking up!
Anyone know how to put in for this show if they do renew it for a 5th time? Didn't see anything on their website, but I'd love to have the opportunity!

I believe all the flights tabs are picked up by CBS, so price is never an issue for air travel on Amazing Race. (of course the prices would be astronomical) I think the money issued per leg is merely for cab and miscellaneous costs. Money seems to never become an issue on the show, so i don't think the amount per leg matters unless you really screw up and misuse it.
Hope this helps,

Jpetek is right. The amount given to them at the start of each leg of the race does not cover airfare. I am very sure the cost is astronomical to CBS...and maybe that's why all contestants are not allowed to buy J or F tickets.
The stock footages of airports and airplanes are the only things that get to me sometimes... last night's episode showed an MH 744 landing amidst a mountainous backdrop, and the subtitles said "SINGAPORE"... SIN doesn't have such high mountains anywhere near the airport, and MH 744s are very rare in SIN.
But the fun part of this show is to guess which airline the contestants are actually flying just by looking at the aircraft seats and seat covers that they are sitting on.
Anyone knows where they will be flying to after Korea? Back to the US to complete the last few legs of the race perhaps?

Yep, it's nice to see parts of airports that I'll likely never see.
As an aside, my 4-year old daughter and I met Jon (of Jon and Al, the clowns) at the Ringling Brothers circus here in New Orleans last weekend. He's the 'pre-game' entertainment' (doesn't wear clown garb), and also the human cannonball. Very entertaining.
I hope clowns win, but I'm thinking now that the gay guys will win, clowns second, the other 2 guys third, Kelly/John last.

I would imagine the full fare walk up fare would be equal to a J or F class ticket anyway. I think the rule of them flying econ only is to create consistency, and perhaps also to add a little more difficulty because there would almost always be first of biz class seats available on short notice.

Awesome episode Thursday night! I sure hope it gets renewd for a 5th season.
Too bad we didn't see more of the airport in Seoul, but it was still exciting to see them scrambling for flights between Malaysia & Korea.
It's getting to be a tight race. I hope the clowns and Jon & Kelly lose. They really annoy me. The clowns have irritated me ever since they arrived at the first pit stop in Italy with clown noses on - and Jon & Kelly are funny, but SO
whiny and arrogant. I hope to see Reichen & Chip win, or those two other guys.

You know i had an idea for an carrer be an media aviation specialist you know tell the media and movies the right planes to shot. Or maybe get a pass and shot them for them. Any way yes i love seeing them pick airlines
I remember once they had to go thourgh MIA twice once to Mexico City and some idiot siad no lets take Aero Mexico to Mexico City instead of American Airlines because they will have more flights. Also when they needed to go to LHR from Mexico they had to stop in Miami one person did not get an connecting flight with BA or AA so they almost went on IB but they got on BA. I remember the Ancoucre person saying the groups of 4 flights to chose from MIA-LHR i just love that part.
