I need to find out if there is going to be a water cannon salute for LGA's first Song flight on Monday, August 4th.

I will be filming it and whether or not they have one, and where, will depend on wher eI film from.

Anyone know if they will? If so, where on the airport would they do it? Near the delta terminal where its gate is?

If yo dont know THAT, do you know if other inagural Song flights had water cannon salutes?

Regards

-Phil

Excuse me?

When? Why? You sure?

As I understand, the first flight comes in at 9:35AM on Monday from Tampa.

Yes, there was a Song757 at LGA, but it was not a Song flight. Mainline Delta needed a 757 and used the Song bird, but as was stated, the official first flight out goes to TPA tomorrow.

Yes Phil, I am sure...hard to miss a 757 with a lime green tail taxiing by.  Wink/being sarcastic

Gotta' love equpiment substitutions.

I was also suprised to see a UAL 737 still wearing the "Shuttle by United" titles roll by late Saturday evening.

Think there is going to be a flyover as well?

Would the airport folks get suspicious if I called them and asked?

Now it starts, first come re-call substitutions, then come the angry passengers who paid first class fares. blah blah I am impressed with Song, but DL needs to get their planes in gear if they are going to hand a bunch over for their LCC.

I hear dit was only Gate 8 or something. I remember I was told it would only be one gate, which is no big deal for now, but by motnh's end, thre will be four flights a day I think, and I'm suyre they'll have ot expand at the terminal.

I just don't understand how they can handle that. That's a lot of space that they need, isn't it?

Depending on how they have the flights scheduled, you can easily run four turns through one gate.

Ok, so as for the gat issue, I see that by the end of the month, Song will be operating 11 flights in and out each day from LGA. They can't handle that with only one gate. I dont think anyone is that good.

Nice to see 5 airlines flying the 757 into LGA.

Delta could viably operate 11 flights with one gate for Song, but it depends on the hours of the flights. If they are spread out throughout the day, and with Song's intended turn times, it is quite feasible. It would also be among the best gate usages at LGA, in my opinion. Think about it, one gate serving over 2100 seats daily.

Getting back to the original point... I believe that other Song inaugurals have received a water cannon salute, but I can't say anything about LGA flights. Big grin

This is ironic...

I was booked on song 2508 FLL-EWR on 8/5, but it was cancelled due to weather in NY/NJ. We were offered seats on the LGA flight... I didnt realize it was so new! That would have been teh 2nd day of song ops at LGA! We ended up taking seats for song 2588 FLL-EWR 8/6... the LGA flight, we suspected, would be cancelled as well

Anywho, as for song..... AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING is all I can say- get out there and fly song- you wont want to fly anyone else!

JBLU

(Im still loyal to jetBlue, and will take jetBlue and song on an alternating basis)
