Just coming back from lunch with my boss, we spotted a Song 757 at Delta's gate D-6 here at MSY. He was leaving when I made it out to the ramp. Operating DL 1050 MSY-ATL. Sounds like an equipment substitution.

I wonder what happens to those passengers in First Class. While the seats are still better than mainline, they are not First Class seats. I wonder if DL gave these pax (assuming there were revenue F class pax) a partial refund, bonus miles, etc. Anyone know for sure?

I think this will be a problem as they throw these planes into sub service when needed. Pax booked in the F cabin are not going to be happy and will be vocal to say the least.

Great Tom. It looks like we have another air carrier coming into our city. But we need more gates and one more runway and then we might get more direct flights. I.E. MSY-LAX; MSY-MIA; MSY - SFO; MSY-SAN.

We have such a great city why not expand the airport and atrract more travel.

Tom.....Doesn't DL operate a 757 flight to ATL. I think it is one of their morning flights.

If they have an inaugural flight there anytime in the next year and a half, I'll be there.

They had better get a refund; the airline didn't deliver on the product the first class customers purchased.

Delta has a couple of 757-operated flights from MSY to ATL currently. The 9:05am and the 6:00pm flights are definetely flown with the 757, and possibly one more.

Song should announce MSY flights within the next few months I would imagine. I could easily see MSY-JFK and MSY-LAS service and, to a lesser extent, MSY-LAX.

Thanks Steve.....sounds great. I guess they will use the "D" terminal. The second most busiest terminal at the airport next to "B."

When Song announces flight out of MSY, do you think Song will be allianced with CO, NW, and DL?

It's already been made clear that Song will be excluded from the DL/NW/CO alliance for now

They should be apart of the alliance. But, I guess since it is a starter airline coming into a rough airline market, it would be in its best interest to see if people like Song. Once they post profitable numbers, then I guess it would consider becoming part of the alliance.

On the flip side, if they were to become part of the alliance, they could benefit.

that's business for you.
