I remember a while ago, in 2002 AA operated flight 93/92 from EWR to LHR on a 767-300. In 2003 however, they were supposed to upgrade the a/c to a 777. All of a sudden, AA cancelled the flight and eventually there was no AA flight to London from Newark. Anybody know why they cancelled that flight?

While not privy to any financial numbers, I'm sure the flight was likely not much of a success. While AA has a strong presence in the New York area, Newark is quite weak for the carrier compared to JFK. AA probably felt it could make better use of the limited LHR slots by focusing on its strengths. In addition all LHR flying is now performed by the 777, so if EWR was unable to produce as a 763, it certainly could not sustain the added capacity of the 777.
