Does Air Force One have a B747-400 style cockpit or the normal B747-200 style cockpit?

seems pretty standard 747-200, however some special buttons & indicators should be there (e.g. defensive systems)

Accoriding to a PBS documentary that previewed the cockpit, it has been "modernized" much like the KC-135's, KC-10's and UPS's 727's and DC-8's, with digital heading and attitude indicators.

I live in the 'burbs Northwest of DC. This Sunday afternoon a 747 flew over fairly low, and I was assuming it was AF-1 (or the President's 747 flying under another designation). Any way to confirm it? I live in the DCA flightpath, and the aircraft was headed in the direction of Andrews AFB.

beltwaybandit - i too am in the dc area and are familiar with local flight routings. if you tell me more as to what area you live in, that might help. i'm pretty sure that AF1 (or at least its primary passenger) was already down in TX by Sunday. however, that's not to say it couldn't be the plane itself. aircraft arriving into andrews afb from the west typically come south of the city, but there can be exceptions...

Potomac:
I live near the intersection of 270 and 495 (Rockville/Bethesda). DCA arriving traffic is usually passing over my house, headed South/Southeast. IAD departures go East at higher altitutes. Andrews AFB traffic (like the 747 I saw) is lower and headed East.

The aircraft does alot of it's flight empty, to give flight hours to the pilots for currency or an FCF(functional check flight). It flies down to NGU alot for touch and goes and other airfields not too far from Andrews just in case it's needed for someone.

Beltwaybandit, it could have been one of the VC-25's, or an E-4B (also 747 platform). Another possibility is the YAL-1 (airborne laser), but I doubt they would fly that thing into Andrews.
