Does anyone know if there are any plans for LPL-LHR service in the future?
I remember years ago taking BMA to LPL to see my family when I was laying over in LHR.I Flew to LPL on a ATP and returned on a DC-9.I presumed BMA stopped the service because of the growth of MAN but now it seems that LPL has grown a lot over the past couple of years ,both charter and scheduled.

BMA (as it was) stopped the LPL-LHR in the early 1990s partly due to alleged "poor loads" but also because they wanted to expand their LHR-Europe operations and the quickest way to do that was to drop some of their domestic services to provide them with slots. Their MAN-LHR service started around 4 years ago.
If LHR gets a 3rd runway, BA suggested that some slots should be reserved to preserve/allow services to the rest of Britain which may mean that LPL-LHR could happen. However, the current best bet for a London service for LPL will be easyJet to LGW.
