I have booked 4 flights on Kuwait Airways , Heathrow - Kuwait - Bangkok return.
I was wondering if anyone posting here has travelled on this carrier and can give me the low down on whats good , whats bad and the overall experience.
I will be on an A340 and a 777 for the legs.
Any comments will be appreciated good and bad!!!!!!!

I fly KU regularly ORD-KHI and sometimes JFK-KHI and its v good for the price and service. All A 343s and 777s show the latest movies as well as have PTVs in every seat.
KWI has a good duty free and modern airport but is boring if youre transitting for more than 3 hrs.
The airline as a whole I would rate is 4 stars. 777s are configured in 3-3-3 whilst A 343s are 2-4-2. I just flew on 14 Aug KHI-ORD on A 343 and A 320. Seats are nice and comfy...34 inch seat pitch on all aircraft.

I flew KU LHR-JFK-LHR on their 777's. Good points were that they were punctual, FA's were attentive and the food was good (economy). The 777's have PTV's in coach, but the seat pitch was rather tight.

The airline as a whole is all right, definitely lacking when compared to Emirates, Gulf Air, and Qatar but pleasant enough to fly with. I travel a lot to Kuwait and have ended up on them from time to time. The service is alright if not good at times. The seats are comfortable and they have PTV's in every seat on the A340's and 777's which is an added bonus. Oh and in case you don't know, Kuwait Airways does not serve alcohol, this seems to bother a lot of people for some reason, so I thought I should quickly mention it if you did not already know about it.
The airport is decent, not too big, but definitely comfortable when compared to some of the airports around the world.

A few of my mates have used KU between BKK and LHR many times on their backpacking trips and I've never heard any complaint. According to them, friendly FA, edible food, good entertainment and usually quite punctual.
According to them, KWI is also a nice airport for a layover - quite a bit of shopping to do.

I only flew Kuwait Airways short haul. The A320's were clean and comfortable (in F), the cabin crew were very attentive and friendly. In fact they were some of the best I have experienced on short haul flights. The flights were all on time. For food we had some cold cuts which is not as good as the hot meals with the competition.
My only complaint was the airport, the check in staff were terrible and so was the organisation in the check in area at the airport. The airport itself is OK but there isn't much selection in duty free and the lounges are dated.

Thanks for responding guys even if there was a typo on the front page!
I knew about there not being any alcohol on board and to be honest makes a refreshing change!, i will be spending 3 boozy weeks in thailand anyway so it will be good to treat the flights home as a drying out clinic!

I flew KU on GVA-FRA-KWI-BKK/SIN-KWI-FRA-GVA (772 and 340) and there is nothing to complain about it. The only thing they don't offer what others is are alcoholic drinks. Service is nice, PTVs available, nice staff and KWI airport is ok.
enjoy
