Interesting that Air China use their 777s on domestic routes as well and Urumqi(pronounced URUMCHEE) is one of them(they also use the 757 gained from China Southwest merger and 767 there), infact the city seems to be a recent addition to Air China's network as it was not part of it during the 1990's, its the capital of Xinjiang (Sinkiang) province which is composed of largely Muslim Uighur people and is semi-autonomous as well as seccessionist, the Uighur call it "East Turkistan" they want to seperate so its treated as a pariah, Air China flying there now is a good sign, what other domestic/international cities do the fly them to?

I flew an Air China 777 back in September 1999 PEK-Xi'an. As far as I know, there was one 777 flight a day between the two cities.
