Hi Steph!
Yes, great news! Although it may not be same one seen in NCE unless the person who saw it there can give a positive ID of it.

After two years in the desert its time to fly again for this Jumbo Jet! Nice to hear (or more exactly: read) this.
It would be interesting to know if the second ex-Air China 744 returned in 2001 is still wearing the Khalifa/Air Algerie hybrid scheme.

I can confirm that its in Hamburg. I saw it there this morning. Air China cheatlines, white tail. And there was another 747-400, completely white, next to it. Looked like old white paint, maybe its the other ex-Air China Jumbo stored in 2001 and painted white end of last year for a lease to Khalifa that failed?

Hasn't the Bahrain private 744 been in Hamburg for quite some time now getting done? Or someone else's I can't remember, but there are already two Private 744s operating for the UAE Government, and I remember someone else had one coming as well. This is probably that one.

The white 744 I mentioned has more antennas than I´ve seen on any other 747 except the USAF Jumbos. I think that the most likely guess is indeed its the brandnew plane for Oman outfitting at Lufthansa Technik.
Both 747 were parked in the same position today when I left HAM as a few days back. The white one outside the Hangar, the ex-Air China bird inside with only the tail outside.

The white 744 I saw had 3 antennas on the back next to each other, two like the IFE(?) antennas on Saudi Arabian´s 744s plus one of the rular angled antennas, no huge radom housing like Omans 747 SP.
