I know this is a downgrade in capacity from their A340s (I believe). However, the fact that they are running this admittedly 'long-and-thin' route into the weak season is impressive. Often, routes like this are shelved altogether after the mid-fall timeframe and resurrected after our Memorial Day Holiday (late May) or in June.

This is a temporary change only, the flight is supposed to go back to an A340-300 in the winter schedule, with 6 flights a week (daily except Wednesday); however, the way LH normally acts that can be changed without notice. It rather seems that they need the plane for the MUC-PVG which will resume September 2nd.

Hmm...did they start early? I saw an LH A330 land in BOS this morning! Also saw an A340, too.

I guess the A340 was the one from MUC and the A330 from FRA...

We had A330s at MUC already, but none of them ever flew to BOS so far!

An LH A330-200 arrived at MUC from FRA today at 10:15LT (LH 178)...

So I guess this one will be off to BOS tomorrow at 11:25LT!

Cooooooool, 2 LH 330's on the ground at once  Laugh out loud

I am surprised, however, since this is a drop in capacity and I understand that the BOS routes for LH are working alright.
