Firstly the terminal structure :
> Both airports have opened a new intra european terminal (BRU opened it in 2002 , ZRH in 2003)
> Both airports have an older international terminal catering mostly for widebodies
> Both airports have a smaller secondary terminal which will be earmarked for improvement in case of future expansion
Secondly the runway structure :
> both airports have three runways in a Z configuration , although at ZRH it seems as though the two parallel runways (which aren't that parallel...) can't be used simultaneosly.
Thirdly : both airports have lost their flag carriers in 2001 (SABENA and Swissair)
Forthly : before the bankruptcy of the aforementionned airlines both airports had similar passenger levels : about 20 million pax in 2000.
quite amazing how these two airports resemble each other! Although it seems that BRU has more scope for expansion , just my 2 cents...
Are there any other airports that resemble each other this much in runway and terminal configuration?

Unique, also BRU is used as an electoral toy...
When politicians go so far that they want that all cargos and charters divert to Lille + regional Belgian airports as CRL, and wish that BRU only has a few regional jet flights a day, you can't say that BRU has supportive behaviour
The same with the noise regulations, it all goes about politics. Disgusting.
