Yes, the DC-10-40s fly to both domestic and international destinations... to Seoul, Pusan, Singapore etc...

The biggest mistake made by most human beings: Listening to only half, understanding just a quarter and telling double.

JAL took delivery of 20 DC-10-40's from the mid-1970's to the early-80's. Except for about 5 of them which were converted to freighters and sold, the rest I believe are still flying for JAL. Retirement is scheduled for 2005.

Yep and here is something may be worth a post.

JAL MD-11s will be phased out before their DC-10s.

Yes, JAL services Honolulu with them, alongside their 747s.  Smile

Are you sure you saw JAL and not JALWays at HNL?

As far as I know JAL doesn't operate D10 into HNL.

?how old are they?

JL DC10s are manufactured between 1975 and 1983 with the oldest ones joining the fleet as late as 1997.
