For all those YYZ and YVR spotters, A340-600 B-HQA is operating CX828 to YVR and YYZ today (22-8-03) departing HKG 16:20LT. 5 mins behind that is B-HQB in CX838 operating the usual YVR service, so there will be two A346s in a row for all you YVR spotters! Get your cameras out!

Disclaimer: As I type this message it is 9:25am, so anything could happen, but this is the plan at the moment!

Thanks for the heads-up... any chance you could give me a shout when -HQC is going to be in town? Or even -HOY for that matter... still trying to nail those two.

Thanks,

If you go to http://www.hkadb.com there are the schedules of the A340-600s, HOX and HOY. The website is in Chinese, but on the right hand side you will see those 5 aircraft listed and their schedules for the coming few days, bar any changes.

Jesus, you must be kidding me!!!!
I cannot believe it. I just hope that CX will fly their A346 more often to YYZ here. As far as I know from the last couple of weeks, there are many denied boardings for both 828 and 829. YYZS?CX, good job. Just keep the sales up!

Sweet ! Thanks for the link. Unfortunately HOY seems to be back to LHR/FRA!

How long has CX been using the -600s on the YYZ route? I see tonight is -HQC coming back via YYZ.

Hmmm...

...and the FIDS are showing an hour delay for now...

(Link here:http://www.gtaa.com/webfids/arrivals.htm)

I guess we'll have to wait until it leaves YVR in a couple of hours from now to see the actual arrival time... say around 2100 EDT. I think I will still show up for the arrival though unless it gets past midnight... anyone else?

HELL YEAH! I'm planning to be there!
I know Cpt.Gomes and G-Money were sidelined by that pesky virus thingy, so, I'll try to inform them via cell/sms.
Thanks for the heads-up!
Anyone else feel like pulling a late-nighter?

OK... here's the rundown so far...

Seems like the turn in YVR went well despite the I/B delay as the FIDS are now indicating revised arrival of 2317 EDT. Current landing active is RWY 23, arrival freq is currently 124.475, TWR is 118.8. Will update as necessary.

I'm conflicted between BAX Global and Wendy's...

Hey Rattibone...

You're right, it's 118.7 not .8 (I lived in YOW for too long). They seem to be using 124.475 for the moment for arrivals.

Cheers!

CX829 has disappeared from GTAA departures page for 8/22. I guess they can't beat the curfew and will leave early tomorrow morning.

I've been checking with CX - trying to get a revised departure time for CX829 from YYZ, but their toll free number still gives it as 23:55. Their local number just refers you to the the 1-888 number. I guess I'll have to get up real early in the morning and check out the GTAA webfids. I'd really like to get a picture of this beast in daylight.

Cessnapimp,

You sure about that arrival freq?  Smile/happy/getting dizzy They've been using 120.175 this evening and just checked as of 22:20 local. Guess 132.800 went US on them? 124.475 has been cross coupled with 120.175.

Cheers.

The plane landed on 24R at around 11:20. I videotaped it taxiing in. An impressive looking beast - even at night. It would have looked even better if they'd turned on the logo lights.

Anyone know if CX is still flying the A346 into SFO? I saw it there last July, great looking plane. Too bad I wasn't able to get a decent shot off, I was shooting through a dirty pane of glass.

Olympus69,

Logo lights are still being left off as part of our SARS cost-savings. No idea if and when we will be allowed to turn them back on.
