I know of Virgin and Tower. Was Laker only international/long haul? Are their any others? Why are these generally not successful? Thanks for your replies!

Also the USA for flyglobespan most a the charters into Scotland and out to Canada are booked etc through the parent company globespan anyways.

There 1st international will be Toronto I would put money on it and Boston a possible good second as an outsider

I know there was The Hawaii Express and Air Hawaii which were LCC's operating from the west coast to HNL.

Also, I don't think Virgin fits into the LCC category.

World Airways operated HNL/OAK/LAX/BWI/EWR/LGW/FRA in the 80's.
TransAmerica operated from OAK to SNN/BRU I believe.
Capitol operated from LAX to JFK and one or two European destinations at one point.
Air Florida operated to Europe from Florida.
Loftledier/Icelandair was once a transatlantic LFC.
America West operated to Honolulu and Nagoya.
Wardair operated Canada to Europe.
